LORD OF OBLIVIANA

Mon 5/10/99 * 8:50 PM

Welcome to the spectacular 250th issue of OsoaWeek! Isn't it amazing? 250 issues with almost no audience at all. 250 issues, and I'm still getting Obliviana ready to go...

And the world really needs Obliviana. I mean, just look at what's happening these days--Star Wars sucks, and World War 3 could be just around the corner. And, in 235 or so days, we got that little Y2K thing. Terrorism, nuclear war, shooting sprees, and... can you believe it? People are saying that the new Star Wars movie sucks.

The way things are going, next month we'll bomb, like, Norway or something and Austin Powers 2 will suck. And then in August, we'll invade someplace like the Canary Islands, and Eyes Wide Shut will suck. The world is all messed up! We must do something, quickly! (To quote Queen Amidala from Phantom Menace trailer B).

Y'know, Obliviana is very complex--I'm even somewhat profoundly confused by it. But there is a big part of it, called "Stormjaunting", which is the part of Obliviana that has the potential to actually help people and the world.

It might seem like such a thing as Stormjaunting, if it is indeed to potentially important, should eclipse the other parts of Obliviana, such as Superior, Severe Repair, and Zope. But as I said, Obliviana quite complex, and it all makes sense to me--the thing as a whole--at some subconscious level. All of its aspects are interrelated.

For years, I have struggled with the seemingly unmanageable complexity of Obliviana, and just recently, I came up with Aerie Obliviana, a single online book, to help me, and everyone else, make sense of Obliviana.

See, I have a vision, and I have been striving to make this vision real, but the vision is nebulous... unclear... so I just have to keep on moving... keep on going in the right direction...

One good thing, I am on track to release Severe Repair in Aerie Obliviana Version 2, on June 7. With this release, I will be presented ALL of Severe Repair--just about everything I've ever written for it--in the Cup/Cupline format.

Severe Repair, a work of science fiction. Stormjaunting, a somewhat supernatural system that can add depth to your life... If it sounds like I'm striving to be the next L. Ron Hubbard, forget it. If you delve into the OsoaWeek archive, you'll find tons of writing I've done on cults. Specifically, how I am committed to NOT starting one!

But make no mistake. Stormjaunting is a serious thing. It is very powerful. I have, indeed, been at times somewhat frightened by its potency. But I sincerely believe that if I can develop the right specifics for Stormjaunting, it can be something that will, like I said, add depth and enjoyment to peoples' lives. But Stormjaunting will have to wait for Aerie Obliviana Version 3, at least, since I have my hands full these days working on Severe Repair and Zope for Version 2!

Let me tell you something. Severe Repair is AWESOME. It's a sci-fi universe, the thing somewhat like these worlds, but also very different: Star Wars universe, Marvel Comics universe, Dr. Who universe, Zelazny's Amber universe, Twin Peaks universe.

Severe Repair will be online on June 7, but I gotta get people to read it! I'd like to think that its high quality will get it fans, but I've had Severe Repair online in various forms for years, and only a few people have read it. So I gotta come up with something. And I will.

Hey! With all this meandering ranting and raving, this is stating to sound like a classic Lord of Obliviana feature. Yeah! A great way to celebrate OsoaWeek250!!!!!

Now, for the remainder of the evening (after I put this issue online) I must work on Severe Repair.

11010001ly,

Frank Edward Nora, Lord of Obliviana

P.S. GET ALL OBLIVIANA!
