***HOW TO BE AN INTERNET ROCK BAND*** [1] Make all your songs available online as free and open MP3's. (The best place to do this right now is MP3.com.) [2] No guilt trips. No "If you listen, do X." We're not bastards like shareware and PBS! (Make money selling products and services: concert tickets, T-shirts, autographed used toothbrushes... you get the idea.) [3] Spend serious time and energy getting into other INTERNET ROCK BANDS! (Find bands using this website. Don't make snap judgements... give your fellow rockers a fair chance. Be a fan!) [4] If you're crazy enough to already be an INTERNET ROCK BAND, email us right away! If you're not, please think about it. We will list all bands that share our ideals. And we'll showcase bands that we especially like. Beyond that, we're not a review site -- but we will have a message board for comments. (We're just getting started, but for now, check out our first two showcase bands: Fuzzy Daupner and Guitari.) Why are we doing all this? Well, just think about it. The record companies want to impose all sorts of encryptions and restrictions to digital music -- and they have the power to do it. Technology made them, and now technology is unmaking them. Their attempts to hang on will most likely make music fans very miserable. The great thing is, unsigned rock bands can decide to become INTERNET ROCK BANDS, and have nothing at all to do with the record companies. And as a fan, if you decide to get into INTERNET ROCK BANDS, you won't have to deal with any crap at all from the record companies.
