I've had a very strange week off from work. But first let me go back a few weeks, to when I decided to do the Storage project...

As you know, the year 2000 is coming soon, and with it, the potential for disaster. So I decided to sort out my storage unit, which I've had for many years, and put the less-important stuff toward the back, so that I'll be able to get to the more important stuff easier.

I decided to rent a 10x10 foot unit across from my 5x10 foot unit. I got start by moving a lot of the stuff out of the old and into the new. This was a few weeks ago.

Then, I think it was Sat. June 19, I went on a Stormjaunt. I wound up visiting the parking areas of all the apartments I've lived in before living here. Iselin, Plainsboro, and Clifton. I also got to return a pair of boots I bought and trade them for a half-a-size bigger. I had already worn them for over a week, but the store, EMS, has a 100% customer satisfaction policy, so they had to take 'em back! But I do appreciate it--it took a few days for me to determine that the boots were indeed too small, and the new ones are now very good.

So anyway, I got the boots at Princeton Marketfair Mall, since the store at the mall I bought them at, Woodbridge, was out of the size I needed, eleven-and-a-half.

Then I headed for the apartments I used to live at, Deer Creek in Plainsboro. I lived there for one troubling year, '95 to '96. It was troubling because I moved in with my girlfriend, but she moved out less than six months later. Beyond the emotional distress was financial--she had been paying half the rent, and now I had to pay it in full. AND it was a terrible winter, with massive snowstorms and arctic temperatures. AND I had a 2.5 hour each way commute to my job in Manhattan. AND there were some very noisy and disturbing neighbors.

Anyway, there was this jogging-type trail there, and it was really cool. It went on for a few miles, through woods and by lakes and corporate centers and the like. When I moved in there I thought I'd walk the trail many times, but as it turned out, I only walked the trail a very few times. But there was one spot that I liked to walk to, and a bench that I would sit backwards on to stare out across a field, with blinking radio towers in the distance, a corporate center to the left, and a road with cars also far ahead.

When I left Plainsboro in around April 1996, I swore never to go back. But a few weeks ago I did go back, and I walked the whole trail in my new 11.5 size boots.

It was hot, and the boots, being brand new, were killing my toes. And the trail was, at many parts, totally covered in Canadian goose shit. And a bunch of Canadian geese hissed at me in a very aggressive manner as I passed by. Canadian geese really are disgusting creatures when you get to know them.

Anyway, it was a somewhat dreary, but also quite exhilarating experience.

I think it was the same weekend that I went up to Dave & Buster's at the Palisades Mall to use up the credits on my "PowerCard". Dave & Buster's seemed cool at first, but now I really hate the place. The Palisades Mall is quite excellent, though. I Stormjaunted going there too, and I got there on back roads.

And I was using Stormjaunt Scrip for the first time. And I was using "chorded" Storms.

Wow. Anyway, I'll tell you about this past week in the next exciting issue of OsoaWeek.

Oh yeah, and also while Stormjaunting that weekend, I wound up going to the Middlesex Mall to find it abandoned, and the SportsPark I used to go to long gone, but I did get some awesome avacado maki sushi.
